Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina was the first to debut her sly lyrics that tackled issues of sexuality and identity with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She played the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. Concentrating on school she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a short time. Then, after graduation, that she shifted her focus to music.
