Christina Haack was conceived in Anaheim, California. After graduating, her first job was in the real estate industry. Tarek al Moussa was the future spouse. They had a great time through 2008, but then the market plummeted and many house flippers and real estate investors went bankrupt. As a result of the financial crisis, Tarek and Christina El Moussa were close to losing all their assets. Their apartment was just $700 per week compared to the $6,000 that they were paying per month for their house. They slowly rebuilt their company as well as the economy. HGTV and Rise to Fame In 2011 Tarek sought out a partner to help him make the HGTV audition tape that showed him and Christina the process of flipping houses from beginning to end. The tape landed in the hands of executives at an production firm called Pie Town Productions. These executives were fascinated by Christina's story of love between Tarek and Christina. They signed an official contract with HGTV in 2012. Flip of Flop was launched in April of 2013. In seven seasons, the show aired from 2013 to 2017. Christina and Tarek from the show, who were in the series, would purchase properties, which were typically moderate-income houses in Orange County. Tarek is focused on the removal and remodeling, while Christina is responsible for designing. Christina also makes sure that everything runs on time.
